behold...
mother moon spent a long time this summer boiling plants and cloth and sewing things.
the result was a strange mini collection of reconstructed garments.
some are dyed with plants, some are embroidered, and some are chopped up and sewn back together again.
the 'rose madder priestess' is made fom three cotton shirts and each section dyed with madder root.
ancient egyptian mummies from 1500 BC were wrapped in cloth dyed with madder, a color associated with the blood of Isis, the goddess of nature and when your working with these ancient plant dyes time dissolves and you just sit there as someone sat then...over a gently warming vat of pure living colour..a continuous transformation.
anyway! here she is.
huge and voluminous
throw on
massive baggy sleeves
one pouch pocket with frayed drawstring
deep v nck
*attention and intension* this is not a normal garment. this dress can only be hand washed (preferably never washed) in luke warm water and hung to dry. it cannot be ironed.
alkalinity and acidity may change the colour...thats what i mean by living colour and the dress has already faded in parts (see photo of sleeve).
an unusual vestment for a feral sister out there and i know this dress will find you.
